A quick video of my Dad showing how to make / throw a Goblet on the wheel.
And no,your eyes aren’t deceiving you.
You might have thought I was a fast thrower until you saw this.
I still can’t make one as good as him.
Mind you he’s had more practice than me.
Thanks for all of you who have clicked to get to my channel.
I think this one may have been uploaded on my other account ,so If you’ve already seen it then sorry.

Me trying to throw a clay pottery casserole dish with pulled handles / lugs and lid on the wheel.
Sorry I forgot to show how to cut the pulled handles to shape, but simply cut with a sharp knife to your desired shape before applying to the pot with slip.
Thanks for everyone who have clicked to see my videos.
Thanks,Dan

After numerous requests I decided to have a go at making / throwing a Tea pot.
I did the whole process in one video so you won’t have to watch several different ones for each different bit, like throwing the body, pulling handles making the spout trimming , making the lid etc etc.
Believe it or not this is actually my first attempt at throwing a tea pot as my dad does all that kind of stuff.
I’m not the best at making handles but this didn’t turn out too badly.
Clay throwing wheel pottery making demo.
Anyway for all of you who have clicked thanks for watching.
Dan.

Throwing / making a big clay pottery vase on the wheel.
The clay was about a 6-7 lb lump and was a bit hard so it took a bit longer to throw than usual but It was a pretty nice shape in the end.

Tang Tri-color ware was produced at the height of the Tang dynasty’s strength and prosperity; the court was “pure and bright,” society stable, the economy flourishing.
Tang Tri-color ware is broadly divided into two categories: ornaments and utensils of daily use. The items especially designed as funerary ornaments include funerary honor guards of civil and military officials, animal headstones, statues of the Emperor of Heaven, models, male, female and animal attendants, most of which were unearthed from Tang dynasty tombs. The items are fired uncolored at temperatures between 1,000 and 1,100°C before being glazed, then placed in a kiln to be fired for a second time at between 800 and 900°C. Because the temperature of the post-glazing firing was lower than that of the pre-glazing firing, almost no changes in shape and the multi-coloring occurred during the post-glazing firing. The colors of each of the glazes mixed and blended with one another, creating that luscious, extravagant phenomenon that is the distinct decorative flavor of the exceptionally splendid Tang Tri-color pottery.
