    I really like the way you apply the slip and then use your finger to create a simple, but beautiful design! Also, I like using the small brush for an accent ring.

    absolutely…wonderful…
    u know Dan…I have been trying…to do pottery for over a year now…forget everything, i had trouble centering.And recently i started watching your videos(which are of course a treat to watch)…and suddenly i am able to center my clay. Now my piece are not wobbly,everything else is yet to achieve.
    Thank you for sharing your knowledge so generously.

    It all depends on …
    It all depends on how big the pot is really.
    I’ve never measured them,I suppose they’d be 1/4″ thich before bellying out or maybe even thinner.
    You just get a feel for how thin you can make them before they collapse,then you’ve gone too far.LOL!!
    Or you can make them really thick to be on the safe side but you’ll end up with a really heavy pot.
    It’s just about finding your own limitations really.

    Dan you make it look easy. I use your tip leaving pottery on bat overnight and then trimming the next day, really helps when chattering a piece, Works great on bowls. Dan can you do some glazing tips. I seem to be struggling.

    It shrinks roughly …
    It shrinks roughly 10-12% in size from throwing to being fired.
    Doesn’t sound much but it is quite a big difference in size.

    I was woundering does your clay shrnk much from wet to fired. I make my own up and it has quite a high shrinkage. I throw a cup and end up with an egg cup!!! LOL
