Making an Olla plant self watering clay pot on the potters wheel demo how to make a Ingleton Pottery
Making an Olla plant self watering clay pot on the potters wheel demo.
Apparently these are an ancient way of watering your plants slowly.
You don’t glaze the pot so it remains pourous.
Then you bury it next to your plants just leaving the top out of the soil, fill with water and this then very slowly oozes out of the pourous pot and slowly waters your plants.
Well it was news to me !!

If you want a slow waterer to bury, just poke a nail hole in the bottom of an old milk jug and plant it with your plants. I’ve rescued transplants in the dog days of summer this way. Fill as needed.
