Does anybody know how to throw miniature pottery on the wheel? I am still fairly new at throwing and I have a passion for miniature things. I would like to learn how to throw mini pots. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks.
The most obvious point is to build a bridge across the large wheel and add a small diameter plaster bat to make a raised wheel that you can get at with small tools and your fingers. Resting way out on the rim of a large wheel is going to destroy accuracy. This search, besides showing your question, should lead you to some clues as to how others do it. http://www.google.com/search?q=throwing+miniature+pots&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Vintage Costume Jewellery History , part 5 of AntiquesAvenues guide: The 1940s. The early part of the 1940s was dominated by the second World War ( 1939-1945). This meant that the materials available to produce Costume Jewellery were limited during this time . Metals were reserved for the war effort and crystal diamante or rhinestones could not be imported from Austria . Just as the raw materials available were limited due to the war so was the effort which could be put into the manufacture

Timing is everything, someone once said. In my case I have to confess that it takes me a long time to make a pot, or a kiln load of pots. As I’ve spoken about before here, life in the summertime, the kids home from school, friends visiting from Penland, put a pleasant speed bump in the old pottery making path. My approach, and maybe potters everywhere, relies on a certain momentum. Clay dries or stays damp, depending on the weather. A potter walks through the shop pushing their finger into so
