I’m doing a ceramics project, and I need to create a stylized piece of functional pottery that is related to a culture of my choice. Which culture do you think would have elegant, subtle pottery that I can get inspired from? Any links please? I’m really interested in ancient pottery too. Thanks so much!
Mayan pottery is very unique, but not at all subtle, it’ bold but attractive.

Incan is very interesting as well.

Roman pottery is very functional, but not quite as creative.

Tourism on the Cheap So, I’ve spent the last 3 days traveling the South Island. The first, a bus ride to Akaroa, secondly, a visit to a location where Lord of the Rings was filmed, and thirdly (yesterday) a Train ride over the southern Alps to Greymouth, with a one hour layover then the ride back. After spending cash on that, and the potential of possibly flying south today, I had nothing planned. I arrived back to the hotel last night hoping to find a letter under my door saying I would get

Archaeology of Oman November 29th, 2008 Archaeology of Oman, The present-day Sal?anat ?Um?n, lies in south-eastern Arabia. While traditional Oman also includes the present-day United Arab Emirates, their prehistoric remains differ from those of Oman proper, particularly after the end of the Early Iron Age. Archaeology is conditioned by the geographical situation. The amount of moisture dictates the amount and place of agriculture and population which are possible. Different ages are reflected
